New Homes In The Works For Seminole County
National homebuilders D.R. Horton Inc., PulteGroup Inc. and M/I Homes Inc. are among the builders and developers working on the hundreds of homes laid out in active subdivision plans across Seminole County. While the industry recently slowed, residential construction has been a bright spot in central Florida's economy since the start of the pandemic.
The biggest active residential developments feature detached single-family homes, but Seminole County is a popular spot for the construction of more compact townhome communities as well. The limited availability of land in Seminole County will continue to restrict the development of detached homes and may promote a rise in condo development. Seminole County is the smallest of the four metro Orlando counties in land mass.
While Seminole County is small, its popularity among buyers supports high-end home prices. Its median February home sale price of $296,000 was more than the central Florida median of $280,000 and higher than any other metro county except for Orange County, according to the Orlando Regional Realtor Association.
