New Mount Dora Subdivision On The Way

The Parks of Mt. Dora LLC plans 188 single-family homes on 63 acres just outside downtown Mount Dora, according to plans filed with Orange County. The plans are a change from the apartments, retail and offices the Mount Dora-based firm proposed for the site more than a decade ago.

The community will include a swimming pool and cabana area, according to the plans. The project team includes Tavares-based Besh Halff as engineer and Mount Dora-based Green Consulting Group Inc. as the planner and applicant. The construction timeline is unknown.

The 32757 zip code where the community is planned does not generate large quantities of home sales, but buyers pay premium prices for the area. In February, there were six home sales in the zip code with an average sales price of $513,853, according to the Orlando Regional Realtor Association.
